The Trackless Pivot kit replaces the overhead track and ceiling opener with hardware that bolts to the wall on either side of the opening. The door tilts up in one piece and stays in the opening.
It uses standard sectional panels, so you keep the door style you want. Kits ship anywhere in the lower 48 and install by any garage door company. From $3,900.

Overhead track and a ceiling motor were the only option for a long time. Garages were small, low, and nobody spent time in them.
That's changed. New homes are built with 9 and 10 foot openings, and the garage is a shop, a gym, a place people actually spend time. With that much height, the door has room to rotate and stay in the opening.
A finished room that still opens up
Show garages, gyms, shops, entertaining space. People want the whole wall to open when the weather is good, and cars and boats to come and go, without a steel track running over the top of it.

Lights, fans, overhead storage, a car lift, a gym rig, a full backswing. Plan the ceiling around what you want up there.
Use the door you want.
The hardware works with most common sectional panels. Your installer sources them in whatever style you pick — composite overlay, plank, flush, or full-view glass. The mechanism doesn't care what the door looks like.
Some garages have no room for a normal door.
A sectional needs the ceiling. It needs track to travel back on, a rail for the motor, and clear space the full depth of the door. Plenty of garages don't have that, and the answer has always been that you can't have a garage door there.
Beams, ceiling fans, ductwork, piping, another door in the same bay, or just not enough depth — a sectional has to fight all of it. This system never touches the ceiling, so none of it applies.

The door leaf is narrower than the opening, so sealing it was the first problem we had to solve. Overlapping parts close off the perimeter when the door comes down, and our side seals come mounted on the hardware itself, pressing against the edges of the door.
Nothing gets screwed to your jambs. And keeping the heat out and the cool air in isn't a small thing when the system was developed under a southern Utah sun.

Quiet, because there's less to it
No rollers, no hinges, far fewer moving parts than a sectional. A simpler system is a quieter system, and this one surprises people.
Seals built into the hardware
Side seals mount on our hardware and press against the door. Nothing screwed to your jambs, and overlapping parts close off the perimeter.
Light where the door used to block it.
When a normal door opens, it parks under your ceiling lights and shadows half the garage. This one doesn't block anything, and the LED bars add light where you need it.
Plugs into the opener
Runs off the LiftMaster 98022 on standard 110V. Comes on with the door, shuts off on its own.

A normal sectional door runs on overhead track with a motor hanging from the ceiling. This system has neither. The door pivots as one piece, all the hardware mounts to the wall, and the ceiling stays clear. Fewer moving parts, less noise, nothing wearing out above your head.
Most modern triple-layer sectional panels between 2.0″ and 2.5″ thick will work, as long as the interior face is flat. Send us your dimensions and we'll confirm before you pay anything.

Two to three feet of clear space in front of the opening. If your driveway sits tight against the door, this isn't the right system.
